Happy -1 Year Anniversary!

One year from right now, I will be walking down the aisle!

I'm excited, but the wedding still seems so far away. We've planned the major things, but because we haven't made decisions on any details or sent out save-the-dates or invitations, it doesn't feel real yet. For now, I'm trying to enjoy the easiness and calmness we've experienced so far. I know there's only so long we can keep it up before our to-do list gets crazy!

Our Engagement Party

Over Labor Day weekend, Adam's parents threw us an engagement party at their lake house. It was great to see everyone and I think our families enjoyed meeting one another.
We got lots of thoughtful gifts, like this bottle of Wedding Ale from Michigan's own Bell's Brewery from Adam's aunt and uncle.
Someone requested a kissy photo. This was the result.
We had a great time at our party. It made us really excited to have all of our family and friends together in Chicago next September!

Strike a pose

This is getting to be too easy.

One of our goals for this month is to book a photographer. Once we found out my dream photographer was over-budget, I got my head out of the clouds and started looking for a photographer that met the following criteria:
-beautiful photos
-photojournalistic style
-2 photographers to shoot our wedding
-preferably includes a complimentary engagement session
-in our budget

The biggest benefit to getting married in Chicago is that there are so many vendors to choose from. The biggest challenge of getting married in Chicago is that there are so many vendors to choose from. How do you find the perfect photographer in a sea of photographers? I did lots of research and looked at dozens of photographers online. In the end, though, Adam and I only met with one.

As soon as we sat down with Andy from Andrew Collings Photography, we knew he fit the bill. We're so excited for him to shoot our engagement and wedding pictures!
He's even shot a wedding at our ceremony venue before!
